The concert will feature the following chazans:

Shulem Lemmer

Raised in Boro Park, Brooklyn, Shulem’s singular voice has gained widespread attention in the Chasidic community and beyond.

Lemmer made history as the first born-and-raised Orthodox singer to ever sign a major record deal in the U.S. His recent contract with Universal Music’s Decca Gold Label positions him as an artist primed to break through to a global audience with the release of his album, The Perfect Dream.

One of the most sought-after Jewish singers today, Shulem has performed in front of a wide range of audiences across the Jewish spectrum as well as those of other faiths. Shulem provides an authentic taste of Jewish music and culture with his proud Jewish appearance and style.

He performed the National Anthem at San Francisco Giants Stadium and G-d Bless America at Fenway Park and Citi Field.

Alby Chait MBE is the Senior Minister of the UHC synagogue

The Leeds-based Rabbi Alby Chait has been named an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours.

Recognised for his services to the Leeds Jewish community, the award also highlights Alby’s efforts in his roles as senior minister for the United Hebrew Congregation and Jewish chaplain for the Leeds Teachings Hospital Trust during the COVID pandemic.

After the impacts of lockdown forced Alby to close the UHC’s doors, the recently ordained rabbi continued to hold morning services online and broadcasting songs of prayer and modern pop music on social media with the help of UHC member Andrew Ullmann and pianist Jon Chamberlain.

Avromi Freilich

Avromi was born in Gateshead in 1971 into a family renowned for its rabbinic scholarship, musical ability and service to the community. Whilst studying at Yeshiva in Israel, Avromi developed his vocal skills under many fine tutors, including the renowned Solomon Chumchenko. Returning to London at the age of 21, he continued his studies under the guidance of Chazan Haschel (formerly of Kinloss now of St John’s Wood Synagogue), Maestro L Seymour and more recently Mrs L Lider.

He has produced his first solo recording and, as far as his family, communal and professional duties permit, continues to fulfill the considerable demand for him to appear professionally in concerts.

Avromi’s singing reflects his nature. Just as he is sensitive, compassionate yet full of joie de vivre, so his tefillot (prayers) combine his commitment and devotion with a determination to involve and delight all who are privileged to hear him.
